State Election Office Sought 67 Companies of CAPF for Himachal Pradesh Polls

Shimla, 15th Oct. Himachal Pradesh’s state election office has demanded 67 companies from the Central Armed Police Forces in order to hold free and fair Assembly elections in the state.

Maneesh Garg, the state Chief Electoral Officer, provided this information on Friday evening.

According to him, 65 CAPF companies were deployed during the 2017 Assembly elections.

The CEO said, the notification for the state elections will be issued on October 17, and the deadline for filing nominations is October 25.

Papers will be scrutinized on October 27, with the deadline for withdrawing papers set for October 29.

The voting will take place on November 12, with the results being announced on December 8.

As of now, 55,74,793 people are eligible to vote in the polls. The state legislature has 68 seats.
