Dehradun, 19th August. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated on Thursday that the investigation into the state Subordinate Services Selection Commission paper leak will continue until the last person involved is apprehended.
Meanwhile, the STF investigating the case detained another person, Ankit Ramola, a resident of Uttarkashi.
Ankit Ramola is close to detained Uttarkashi district panchayat member Hakam Singh Rawat, the main defendant in the case, a senior official said.
Rawat was arrested on Sunday by the state police’s Special Task Force (STF) for allegedly taking money from candidates in exchange for solved question papers in the graduation level examination held on December 4 and 5, last year.
Following his arrest, the BJP expelled him from the party.
So far, 19 people have been arrested in connection with the case.
“No one will be spared and if further investigation is required, the government is ready for that,” CM Dhami said.
When asked about Hakam Singh’s connections to various politicians and officials, Dhami stated that if anyone commits a crime, action will be taken against him.
In response to the arrest of Hakam Singh, the main opposition Congress said that arresting small fish in the case would prove nothing.
State Congress President Karan Mahra said the chief minister formed a SIT due to opposition pressure.
