Mumbai, 21st Nov: Bollywood actor-director Siddhanth Kapoor has been summoned by Mumbai Police in connection with a major drug seizure case, an official said on Friday.
The Ghatkopar unit of the Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) has directed Kapoor — brother of actor Shraddha Kapoor — to appear on November 25 for recording his statement. Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani alias Orry has been called on November 26 after he failed to turn up on Thursday.
Police officials said the names of both surfaced during the interrogation of Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh, a key accused in a ₹252 crore mephedrone seizure case. Shaikh allegedly told investigators that several film and fashion personalities, a politician, and a family member of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim had attended rave parties organised by him in India and abroad.
Siddhanth Kapoor was earlier detained in Bengaluru in 2022 over alleged drug consumption during a party.
Orry, who was initially asked to appear on Thursday, sought additional time, prompting a fresh summons.
Shaikh, also known as ‘Lavish’, was deported from Dubai last month. He was first arrested in connection with the high-value drug recovery from Sangli, Maharashtra, and later taken into custody by the ANC’s Ghatkopar unit as further links emerged in the case.
