Mysore, 4th April.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said on Wednesday that he would never switch to the BJP, even if they were to offer him the roles of President or Prime Minister of the country.

Addressing a gathering of SC-ST activists and leaders at the District Congress office to garner support for Lok Sabha candidate M. Laxman, the CM emphasized the importance of ideological clarity in gaining political power. He cautioned against being swayed by the BJP-RSS, noting their exclusion of Shudras, Dalits, and women from their inner circles.

Siddaramaiah also criticized former Prime Minister Deve Gowda for his shifting stance towards Prime Minister Modi, highlighting the need for politicians to maintain ideological consistency.

Furthermore, the Karnataka Chief Minister condemned the BJP and RSS for their opposition to social justice and reservations, asserting that these measures are essential rights for oppressed communities as long as the caste system persists in society.

He pointed out the historical injustices faced by Shudras and women, emphasizing the progress made through constitutional reforms and warning against attempts to revert to discriminatory practices inspired by Manusmriti.

Siddaramaiah urged marginalized groups to refrain from aligning with the RSS, citing instances of their exclusion from the organization’s inner sanctum by senior BJP leaders.

He highlighted the Congress government’s initiatives to ensure equitable allocation of funds and reservations for Dalits, contrasting it with the BJP’s historical opposition to such measures.

Appealing to the public to support the Congress candidate M. Laxman in the upcoming elections, Siddaramaiah underscored the importance of informed voting and resistance to emotional manipulation.

The CM was joined by Social Welfare Minister HC Mahadevappa, KPCC Working President Tanveer Seth, Lok Sabha candidate Laxman, and leaders of the SC/ST wing of KPCC at the event.

Karnataka is set to hold elections in two phases on April 26 and May 7 for 28 constituencies, as part of the larger general election for 543 Lok Sabha seats taking place in seven phases starting April 19, with the results to be announced on June 4.
