Omkareshwar, 7th Jan. The final day of the Akhil Bharatiya Karyakram of Kutumb Prabodhan began with Bharat Mata Puja on the banks of the Narmada River at the Markandeya Ashram in Omkareshwar on January 5. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat performed the puja of Bharat Mata and Adi Shankaracharya.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bhagwat emphasized the essence of Bharat Mata Puja, explaining that it symbolizes service to the people, land, forests, water, and animals of India. He said, “The land of India nurtures and sustains us. Serving its people and preserving its environment and biodiversity is the true worship of Bharat Mata. The inspiration for environmental conservation stems from the devotion to Bharat Mata.”

Following the Narmada Aarti at the Markandeya Ashram, Dr. Bhagwat called for a balance between spiritual practices and social service. Highlighting the importance of the household as the fulcrum of dharma, he urged individuals to dedicate themselves to societal welfare. Drawing a parallel with the legend of Garuda’s devotion to his mother earning him the privilege of becoming the vehicle of Lord Vishnu, Dr. Bhagwat stated that service to Bharat Mata would similarly empower individuals to uphold dharma.
During the meeting, discussions revolved around strengthening India’s family system. The gathering highlighted the uniqueness of the Indian family structure and outlined efforts undertaken by Kutumb Prabodhan to reinforce family values. Activities include regular interactions between “Kutumb Mitras” (family friends) and families to foster positive dialogue.
The initiative also emphasized six core aspects—Bhog (food), Bhajan (devotion), Bhasha (language), Bhusha (attire), Bhraman (travel), and Bhavan (housing)—as pillars for nurturing families. Addressing the growing concerns over excessive mobile usage among children, Dr. Bhagwat stressed enhancing communication within families to create a positive environment where children feel encouraged to share their thoughts.
He also praised the significant role of women in the Kutumb Prabodhan initiative, noting their leadership in organizing programs across various states. Looking ahead, Dr. Bhagwat encouraged greater participation of women in such activities.
Concluding the puja, Dr. Bhagwat remarked, “The entire world is a body, and its soul is our Bharat.” The gathering resonated with his call for collective efforts to preserve the essence of Indian values and traditions.
