Puttaparthi, 23rd Nov: Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan on Saturday attended the 44th Convocation of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning at Prasanthi Nilayam in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, calling on graduates to serve the nation with integrity and modern skills.

He said Sri Sathya Sai Baba envisioned education where service becomes a way of life, creating leaders who value selflessness, discipline and excellence. He noted that the University emblem, featuring the Sarva Dharma Stupa, symbolises peace and respect for all faiths.

The Vice-President underlined India’s rapid transformation into a global centre of innovation and sustainable development, crediting far-reaching reforms in higher education under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the National Education Policy 2020 has elevated research, digital learning and infrastructure across the country’s universities.

Calling for greater focus on emerging technology, he said future generations must master Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Blockchain and Machine Learning while staying rooted in national ethos and human values.

Highlighting India’s contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic, he said the country’s vaccine development and humanitarian distribution proved that economic strength gains meaning only when combined with compassion. He added that as India moves towards becoming the world’s top economy, its contribution to global welfare will grow further.

Warning youth against drug abuse, he urged students to carry forward Bharat’s spiritual ethos and discipline. He also called upon them to align with the goal of Viksit Bharat @2047 and play a meaningful role in nation-building.

The ceremony was attended by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, state minister Nara Lokesh, SSSIHL Chancellor K. Chakravarthi, faculty members, students and their families.
