Women’s Kabaddi Selection Trials to Be Held from January 21 to 23 in Kathua

Kathua, 22nd Jan: The Jammu and Kashmir Amateur Kabaddi Association has announced the rescheduling of selection trials for the 72nd Senior National Kabaddi Championship (Women).

Trials to Be Held from January 21 to 23

General Secretary of the Association, Dr. Kuldeep Kumar Gupta, informed that the women’s selection trials will now be conducted from January 21 to January 23, 2026, at the Indoor Stadium, Kathua. The trials will commence daily at 3:00 PM.

Eligibility Criteria for Women Players

Dr. Gupta stated that the maximum weight limit for women players is 75 kg, while no age restriction has been prescribed for participation in the trials.

Appeal to District Units and Clubs

He appealed to all affiliated district units and clubs of the Union Territory to send their registered women players to participate in the selection trials.

Guidelines for Central Government Employees

Players serving in the Central Government or Central Armed Forces must submit prior permission/NOC from their respective departments. Only those Central Government employees who are currently serving within the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory will be eligible to take part.

National Championship in Telangana

The selected women’s team will represent Jammu and Kashmir in the 72nd Senior National Kabaddi Championship (Women), scheduled to be held from January 27 to January 30, 2026, at the Indoor Stadium, Telangana.

Mandatory Documents for Trials

All eligible players must bring the following documents at the time of trials:

  • Two passport-size photographs
  • Two photocopies of Aadhaar Card
  • No Objection Certificate from parents
  • Domicile Certificate
  • Departmental permission letter (for Central Government employees)
  • Medical Fitness Certificate issued by the Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
  • Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) Registration Card

 

 

Players not registered with AKFI will not be eligible to participate in the selection trials.
