New Delhi, 4th Sept: Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M. Scindia today chaired the quarterly financial performance review of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL), and ITI Limited.
The review covered profit after tax (PAT), turnover trends, and future growth projections, with all three PSUs showing encouraging progress.
BSNL reported profits for two consecutive quarters — ₹262 crore in Q3 and ₹280 crore in Q4 of FY 2024-25. This marks a sharp recovery from a loss of ₹849 crore in Q4 of the previous fiscal, leading to a 58% reduction in annual losses to ₹2,247 crore.
Revenue grew by 17% in FY 2024-25, while profits more than doubled compared to FY 2023-24.
ITI Limited reported ₹4,323 crore revenue in FY 2024-25, more than doubling over the previous fiscal, alongside achieving positive EBITDA.
Scindia lauded BSNL’s financial turnaround, calling it a testament to the Government’s resolve to strengthen PSUs and empower them in India’s telecom revolution.
He urged BSNL, TCIL, and ITI to prioritise innovation, service excellence, and sustainable practices, while reaffirming the Government’s support for building a self-reliant and resilient telecom sector in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.
The Minister also linked today’s performance review with the momentum of last month’s Chief General Managers (CGMs) Review Meeting in Delhi, where roadmaps for customer service and operational efficiency were set.
