Gwalior, 14th Sept: Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya Scindia, who also represents Guna in Parliament, visited the under-construction Gwalior Railway Station on Sunday to review the ongoing modernisation project. He inspected the site, assessed the progress of work, and directed officials to ensure quality and time-bound completion of every phase.
Scindia stressed that the redevelopment is being carried out in harmony with Gwalior’s historical and cultural heritage. He instructed that the station flooring should feature the city’s famed stone and that each corner should reflect the region’s legacy. The Minister also called for world-class passenger amenities, including a digital information system, enhanced cleanliness, modern waiting halls and accessible facilities for persons with disabilities.

Highlighting the project’s importance, Scindia said the Gwalior station transformation—approved in 2022 under his initiative—is one of his key development priorities. He fixed specific timelines for each stage of work and assured residents that all tasks will be completed within the scheduled period.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and with the support of Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the Gwalior station will emerge as one of the nation’s finest, Scindia said. The revamped hub will feature upgraded connectivity, improved parking and advanced security systems, while showcasing the city’s rich heritage.

“The modernisation of Gwalior Railway Station is not merely an infrastructure upgrade; it embodies the pride and identity of this historic region,” Scindia stated. He added that visitors will experience both state-of-the-art facilities and the cultural grandeur of Gwalior.
The Minister emphasised that the redevelopment will not only benefit local citizens but also boost tourism and trade, opening new avenues for economic growth. “This project will be completed within the stipulated timeframe and stand as one of India’s premier world-class stations,” he assured.
