Satna, 10th June: Dr. Rakesh Mishra, the newly elected unopposed National President of the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation, received a spectacular welcome on his first visit to Satna today. Arriving on the Anand Vihar-Rewa Superfast train, he was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of district athletes and rural youth, who celebrated with drums, music, and sweets.
Satna Mayor Yogesh Tamrakar, along with prominent figures like Ashok Gupta, Sanjay Agarwal, Pannalal Awasthi, and Balkrishna Shukla, welcomed Dr. Mishra at the railway station with garlands of flowers. Following the station reception, athletes and young supporters held a vibrant bike rally through the city, proudly waving the Indian tricolor flag.
Citywide Celebrations and Widespread Support
Kamleshwar Agrawal reported that various community groups, including the All Society, Printers Association, and allied organizations of the Vindhya Chamber of Commerce, showered Dr. Mishra with flower petals. Ajay Mishra, Secretary of the Satna Corporation Athletics Association, added that members from a wide range of sports organizations—including basketball, volleyball, judo, karate, wushu, athletics, cricket, table tennis, football, and martial arts—were present to express their joy.

Rajeev Vyas, former Sports Officer, highlighted that the Satna Half Marathon, Boxing, and Volleyball teams specifically welcomed Dr. Mishra waving the tricolor. Esteemed business owners along different city routes also presented him with bouquets as a mark of respect.

At the Pandit Ganesh Prasad Mishra Seva Nyas Headquarters in Neh Nikunj, Dr. Rakesh Mishra expressed his sincere gratitude to all the athletes for their overwhelming support.

Vishnu Narayan Pandey, a senior official of the Volleyball Association, noted that Dr. Rakesh Mishra’s unanimous election has infused new energy among athletes across the country, state, and district.

During his inaugural city tour, a massive contingent of athletes and supporters turned out to welcome Dr. Mishra at numerous key locations:
- He garlanded the statue of Baba Saheb Ambedkar at Simariya Chauraha.
- Welcomes extended from athletes in Uchehara (led by Gokul Singrauli), Jaistambh Chowk (Anil Saini, Mahendra Agrawal), Bihari Chowk (Naveen Agrawal, Praveen Gupta, and merchant organizations), Pannilal Chowk (Vijay Gupta’s team), Purana Power House Chowk (Ashok Agrawal, Girish Agrawal’s team), and Purana Nagar Nigam Chowk (Keshav Makhija’s team).

Separately, at Jaitwara Railway Station, Dr. Rakesh Mishra received a grand welcome led by senior social worker Harish Agrawal, alongside other Mandal officials.
