Kevadia, 31st Oct: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas programme in Kevadia, Gujarat, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Prime Minister hailed Patel’s decisive role in uniting over 550 princely states and reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to his vision of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’.
Shri Modi emphasized that every citizen must reject any thought or action that weakens national unity. “This is Sardar Patel’s India — it will never compromise on its security or its self-respect,” the Prime Minister declared, underscoring the government’s steadfast approach to internal security and national integrity.
Highlighting the government’s achievements since 2014, the Prime Minister noted that Naxal-Maoist terrorism has been drastically curtailed and vowed to eliminate every infiltrator threatening India’s unity. He also remarked that the nation is shedding colonial legacies and honouring true national heroes, strengthening the spirit of ‘Nation First’.
The Prime Minister outlined four pillars of India’s unity — cultural unity, linguistic unity, inclusive development, and emotional connectivity through infrastructure. He urged citizens to embrace devotion to Maa Bharti as the highest form of service, calling unity the ultimate tribute to Sardar Patel.
