New Delhi, 14th Jan.Sanjay Raut, the leader of the Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray group, made fun of Milind Deora, who left the Congress Party on Sunday, by claiming that loyalty no longer exists in politics and that instead, it is all about power and ideology.

In addition, he mentioned Murli Deora, the father of Milind Deora, praising him as a capable leader who understood what was best for the group.

Politics is today entirely about power, and concepts like philosophy and loyalty don’t exist. I knew Milind Deora, he was a big leader and had a special attachment with Congress,” Raut told the reporters when questioned about the exit of Milind Deora, who is a former union minister. With only a few months until the Lok Sabha elections, renowned Maharashtra leader Milind Deora announced his resignation from the Congress on Sunday, dealing a blow to the party. It has been claimed that he was displeased with the talks of Congress and Shiv Sena (UBT) sharing seats in the state.

“I have tendered my resignation from the primary membership of Congress, ending my family’s 55-year relationship with the party,” the 47-year-old leader posted on X (previously Twitter). I am appreciative to all the leaders, associates, and karyakartas for their steadfast support throughout the years.”

Prior to 2014, Deora served as a member of the Lok Sabha for Mumbai South. The Congress leader has not taken kindly to the Uddhav Sena’s recent move to lay a claim to run for the seat in the 2018 general elections. He also voiced his dissatisfaction with Sanjay Raut’s remarks, which implied that the Congress should begin from scratch in Maharashtra. The Congress and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena are members of the INDIA bloc, an opposition alliance.

Milind Deora is rumoured to be joining Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, which is in power in the state together with the BJP. He has labelled it as “rumours” anyway. Meanwhile, by bringing up his father, the Congress made fun of Milind Deora. “Murli Deora always stood by the Congress party, through thick and thin,” stated senior party leader Jairam Ramesh.
