New Delhi, 7th Aug. The Modi government made a crucial step on Saturday by appointing Sanjay Kumar Agarwal (IRS-IT&C:1988) as the next Chairman of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC).
This appointment follows the retirement of the former incumbent, Vivek Johri (IRS-IT&C:1985), who retired on July 31.
Notably, Sanjay Kumar Agarwal was previously serving on the CBIC board as a Member (Investigation), a post he has held from March 1, 2022.
Surjit Bhujabal (IRS-IT&C:1989) has been appointed as the CBIC’s Member (Investigation) in addition to this key development.
Surjit Bhujabal was previously the Principal Director General of the Directorate General of Goods and Services Tax Intelligence (DGGI) in Delhi.
