Mansa, 14th Jan: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Tuesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development works of the Mansa Municipality in Gujarat, marking a major boost to infrastructure and civic amenities in the region.

Addressing a gathering, Shri Shah said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, a new era of development and construction of modern infrastructure has begun across the country, including Gujarat. He underlined the strategic importance of the Mansa region and said continuous efforts are being made for its holistic development.

He announced that an 11-storey new Civil Hospital equipped with state-of-the-art facilities will be built in Mansa, and once completed by 2030, residents will no longer need to travel outside the region for medical treatment. He added that a Medical College will also be started within the campus of SD Arts and B.R. Commerce College. Highways between Mansa–Pilwai and Balva–Gochariya will also be developed at a combined cost exceeding ₹200 crore.

Highlighting water management initiatives, Shri Shah said that new barrages in the Mansa, Rampur–Mansa and Gandhinagar areas will help free residents from fluoride-contaminated water and ensure long-term water security.

Speaking on cultural heritage, the Home Minister said the Somnath Temple stands today with greater grandeur despite being destroyed multiple times in history, sending a strong message that Sanatan Dharma, Indian culture and people’s faith are eternal and indestructible. He said the Somnath Swabhiman Parv reflects India’s civilisational resilience and pride.

Shri Shah also emphasised the development of sports infrastructure in Gujarat, noting that Ahmedabad is emerging as a global sports city. He urged local students and young athletes to use new sports facilities to build confidence and bring laurels to the state and the country.

He further announced that Ahmedabad will host major global sporting events, including the Commonwealth Games in 2030 and World Police and Fire Service Games in 2029, with efforts underway to bid for the 2036 Olympics.

Reiterating the national vision for 2047, Shri Shah said India’s youth will lead the country to the top ranks globally, and Mansa will play its part in that transformative journey.
