WASHINGTON – Samsung on Sunday said that it is expected to release three models: the Galaxy S26, the Galaxy S26 Plus, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra in India.
Each will have its own set of upgrades, but the Ultra is clearly the star of the show, the company stated.
Samsung is gearing up to launch its next big smartphone, the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
He leaks and rumours have spilled almost all the details about the device. If you are curious about its price, release date, specs, or design, you’re in the right place.
Samsung has played it safe with its launch calendar usually unveiling its flagship Galaxy S series phones in January. If the trend continues, the global launch of the S26 Ultra could happen early next year, in January 2025.
India might have to wait a little longer. Rumours suggest that the Indian debut could happen in March 2025 which is a bit later than usual but not entirely surprised.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra won’t come cheap. With so many upgrades packed into this device, it’s likely to carry a price tag of Rs 1,59,999 in India.
It is 20 percent higher than its predecessor. But considering the high-end specifications, Samsung fans may feel it’s worth every rupee.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumoured to bring a quad-camera setup on the back.
This could include a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens. For selfies and video calls, Samsung might equip the phone with a 12MP front camera.
In terms of design, Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra won’t be drastically different from the S25 Ultra.
The noticeable change could be the camera layout. Instead of the floating camera island, the new model might feature a more enclosed camera module. This gives it a sleeker, more polished look.
The S26 Ultra is likely to sport a 6.9-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Rumours hint that the screen could reach 3000 nits of peak brightness making it one of the brightest displays on any smartphone.
It might be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage. This combination promises blazing-fast performance. Whether you’re multitasking, gaming, or running heavy apps, it has it all.
Samsung fans can expect a long-lasting battery and efficient power management, though details on battery size haven’t fully surfaced yet.
One of the more interesting leaks comes from tipster IceUniverse, who shared images of tempered screen protectors for the Galaxy S26 series. While not official confirmation, the images suggest two key things. First, the S26 Ultra won’t have a curved display, meaning the screen will stay flat. And second, the edges of the phone are likely more rounded than previous models.
Samsung started experimenting with rounded edges with the S25 Ultra, but if these leaks are correct, the S26 Ultra could take it further.
Rounded edges aren’t just about looks. They make the phone more comfortable to hold and fit better in pockets.
Samsung releases its flagship phones in January.
The reports suggest the Galaxy S26 series launch could be pushed to February 25, 2025.
The delay might be due to a strategic decision: the company is ditching the Galaxy S26 Edge model in favour of the Plus variant reportedly because slim Edge phones didn’t sell as well.
Fans are expected a January debut, they may have to wait a little longer. The extra time could mean Samsung has polished every detail for a perfect launch.
