Salil Parekh Joins US India Strategic and Partnership Forum Board of Directors

 Salil Parekh, the CEO and managing director at Infosys, has been appointed to the board of directors of the US India Strategic and Partnership Forum (USISPF).

With nearly three decades of experience in the IT services industry, Parekh is recognized as an industry veteran, renowned for executing business turnarounds and managing successful acquisitions. In his role as CEO of Infosys, Parekh steers the strategic direction of one of India’s most prominent IT giants, while fostering a robust leadership team to drive its execution.

The appointment of Parekh to the USISPF Board is hailed as a significant milestone, underscoring the success story of Indian IT giants in the United States. Mukesh Aghi, president, and CEO of USISPF, commented on Parekh’s addition, stating, “Salil’s recent addition to the USISPF Board accentuates the success story of Indian IT giants in the US for years.” Aghi highlighted Infosys’ prominent position in India and its substantial contribution to the IT services sector, a vital component of India’s exports to the United States.

In the evolving landscape of the digital economy and digital trade, Aghi emphasized Infosys’ role in fostering synergy in tech ties between India and the United States. He lauded Infosys’ success in the US as a testament to India’s robust tech talent, which plays a pivotal role in enhancing and expanding the tech sector in the United States.

John Chambers, chairman of USISPF, expressed enthusiasm over Parekh and Infosys’ participation on the board, foreseeing their contribution to forging critical alliances between the two economies. Chambers emphasized the importance of consolidating digital trade to establish India as a global innovation partner, aligning with USISPF’s core mission.

“I’m thrilled to have Salil, a leader with a great track record in the IT industry, join the USISPF Board,” Chambers remarked, acknowledging Infosys’ significant impact on the American tech industry. He credited Infosys for its instrumental role in India’s burgeoning software exports, which reached nearly USD 200 billion in 2023.
