A seasoned officer from the Uttar Pradesh Cadre, Chauhan brings extensive experience to the role, having served in various capacities at both the state and central government levels. The Capacity Building Commission, constituted on April 1, 2021, is a central component of Mission Karmayogi, a national program aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of India’s civil services. The commission is mandated to drive standardization and harmonization across the civil services landscape, serving as the primary custodian of capacity-building reforms.

Chauhan’s appointment is expected to provide renewed momentum to the mission, given her distinguished background in public service. The commission’s work is crucial for equipping India’s civil servants with the necessary skills to deliver on the government’s priorities and meet the evolving needs of modern governance.
