Kevadia, 24th Oct: Union Minister for Communications and North East Development, Jyotiraditya Scindia, addressed the Rural Postal Conference held in Kevadia, Gujarat, on Friday.

Speaking to rural postal workers from across the state, he emphasized their pivotal role, saying, “You are not merely postal employees, but the heartbeat of India, delivering service, communication, and trust to every village and home.”
Rural Postal Workers: The Invisible Link of India’s Communication Chain
Scindia highlighted that rural postal workers form the unbroken link between the government and citizens, often working in the most challenging geographical conditions. “You reach where roads do not, where networks fail, yet your service connects the nation. You bring smiles to pensioners receiving letters and light up the future of young girls through schemes like Sukanya Samriddhi,” he remarked.

The Minister noted that Gujarat employs over 27,000 rural postal workers, who last year delivered 56.9 million postal items and managed more than 4 million savings accounts. “When dedication transforms into resolve, even the impossible becomes possible,” he said.

Indian Post: From Tradition to Technology
Scindia stressed that the Indian Postal Service has evolved into the country’s largest “Digital & Financial Inclusion Network,” offering banking, insurance, savings, pension, and mutual fund KYC services. He further announced that Speed Post will soon enable deliveries within 24–48 hours, enhancing reliability and precision for citizens.

Postal Workers: The Pride and Pulse of India
“The time now is not just for support, but for partnership,” Scindia said. “As every post office becomes a center of governance and postal business grows tenfold, we need not just employees, but agents of change. Your dedication and service are India’s future. When you serve tirelessly, the nation moves forward.”
