Union Minister Bhupender Yadav Presides Over Event; Tributes Paid to Prof. Bal Apte on His 13th Death Anniversary

New Delhi, 23rd July: “Samidha,” a newly published book by educationist Dr. Rakesh Mishra, was formally launched on July 17 at the NDMC Convention Center in Parliament Street, New Delhi. The book was unveiled by the Chief Guest, Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, Sarkaryavah (General Secretary) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The event was presided over by Union Minister Shri Bhupender Yadav. The launch coincided with the 13th death anniversary of the revered nationalist thinker, eminent jurist, and former MP, Prof. Bal Apte.

The event, which saw a large attendance from various fields, honored Prof. Apte, with whom author Dr. Rakesh Mishra served as an assistant for 10 years. Smt. Nirmala Balwant Apte, the special guest, could not attend due to health reasons but conveyed her blessings digitally, speaking about the close bond between Dr. Rakesh Mishra and Prof. Apte. “Samidha” has been published by Prabhat Prakashan, New Delhi.

Launching Dr. Rakesh Mishra’s book, RSS Sarkaryavah Shri Dattatreya Hosabale stated that the 50 articles compiled in “Samidha” represent diverse fields. He noted that key aspects of the lives of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi have been presented in a very engaging manner. He added that the book, featuring articles on Prof. Bal Apte, Syama Prasad Mukherjee, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and various social issues, will awaken consciousness. Hosabale praised Dr. Rakesh Mishra’s efforts in conceptualizing and compiling such a book, also touching upon his social and organizational work.

Shri Hosabale also discussed several facets of Prof. Bal Apte’s life. He stressed the need to address internal ‘pollution’ within humans such as laziness, ego, hatred, and selfishness, asserting that if environmental change is sought, humans must also alter their lifestyles. He emphasized the importance of a good friend, quoting a Sanskrit shloka:

पापान्निवारयति योजयते हिताय गूह्यं निगूहति गुणान् प्रकटीकरोति ।
आपद्गतं च न जहाति ददाति काले सन्मित्रलक्षणमिदं प्रवदन्ति सन्तः।।

This translates to: “Saints say that these are the six characteristics of a good friend: one who protects from sin, encourages good deeds, keeps secrets, reveals virtues, does not abandon in adversity, and offers help in time of need.”

‘Samidha’ Symbolizes Wholeness: Bhupender Yadav
Presiding over the event, Union Minister Shri Bhupender Yadav congratulated Dr. Rakesh Mishra, stating that the articulation of his thoughts in book form reflects his significant political understanding and social achievements. He explained that “Samidha” means offering wood, fragrant substances, etc., to fire. He described Prof. Apte as an ideal and superior individual, highly punctual, from whom he learned much. Yadav highlighted Prof. Apte’s crucial role in shaping the BJP. He also lauded Dr. Mishra’s discussion on environmental issues in the book, acknowledging it as a major challenge today. Yadav mentioned India’s strides in the last decade, such as establishing the International Solar Alliance in Gurugram with 137 participating countries. He emphasized that planting one tree can partially justify the life given by Mother Earth, noting India’s gratitude towards nature, exemplified by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (One Tree for Mother) campaign, which has led to the planting of 140 crore trees nationwide.

Author Dr. Rakesh Mishra stated that the book compiles the personalities and works of nationalist thinkers. It includes articles on figures like Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee (founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh), Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya (great nationalist thinker), Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee (former PM and BJP founder president), Prof. Bal Apte, Shri Madan Das Devi, and Shri Gopal Ji Vyas. The book also remembers Lord Parashuram, Lord Dhanvantari, and Mahatma Buddha, and recalls the contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. Additionally, it highlights the personalities and work of India’s esteemed Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and former BJP National President and current Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah.

The book also features articles on the importance of student power, youth power, and women’s empowerment, the significance of Yoga and environment, and the prominence of Devbhasha Sanskrit and Rashtrabhasha Hindi. Dr. Mishra became emotional as he remembered his ascetic father, Pt. Ganesh Prasad Mishra (Dadda Ji), and mother, Smt. Shanti Mishra Ji, attributing the completion of this work to their blessings and support.
