Rohini Acharya Hits Back at BJP Over “Nachaniya” Remark on Khesari

Lalu Yadav’s daughter defends RJD’s Chapra candidate; says BJP should recall its own film stars before mocking others

Patna, 30th Oct: Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder daughter, Rohini Acharya, launched a sharp counter-attack on the BJP after the ruling party mocked RJD’s Chapra candidate and Bhojpuri superstar Khesari Lal Yadav, calling him a “nachaniya” (dancer). The actor recently joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and was announced as its candidate for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.

Responding to BJP’s jibe, Acharya questioned the party’s criticism by pointing to its own leaders from the entertainment industry. “BJP people are calling Khesari Yadav a nachaniya. But what about Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan, Hema Malini—aren’t they dancers too?” she remarked, also mentioning BJP MP Kangana Ranaut in her response.

Her remarks have added fresh fuel to the escalating war of words between the BJP and RJD, both accusing each other of lowering the tone of election discourse.

Acharya, who once contested the Lok Sabha polls from Saran in 2024 and lost to BJP’s Rajiv Pratap Rudy, clarified she has no political ambitions and called talk of her re-entry into politics “baseless rumours.”

Khesari Lal Yadav, on joining the RJD, said he wished to help “brother Tejashwi Yadav” in building a developed Bihar. “I want the children of Bihar to have good schools and hospitals here, not elsewhere,” he said.

Bihar will vote in two phases on November 6 and 11, with counting on November 14.
