Moradabad, 2nd Feb.
A man claiming to be a member of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and three others have been apprehended by the police for allegedly slaughtering a cow in an attempt to incite communal tensions in the area and defame a local police officer. The incident occurred in Moradabad, and the accused have been identified as Monu Vishnoi, Raman Chaudhary, and Rajiv Chaudhary.

The police are currently investigating whether the suspects are affiliated with any specific group. Vishnoi is believed to have thrown animal remains in the Chatrapur area of Chhajlet Police Station on January 16. Additionally, the accused are accused of stealing a cow and slaughtering it in a forested area. They were arrested on Wednesday and are currently in custody.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hemraj Meena stated that the incidents were premeditated and aimed at causing tension in the area and targeting the station house officer (SHO) of the Chhajlet Police Station. The investigation began after the discovery of cattle remains on January 16. Vishnoi had informed the police about the carcass and planted clothes near it, which led to the identification of the first suspect, Shahbuddin.

During the investigation, Vishnoi informed the police about another cow slaughter taking place in a forest and even uploaded a video of the carcass. Shahbuddin confessed that Vishnoi had paid him to place the carcass on January 16 and then steal and slaughter a cow on January 28.

In addition to Shahbuddin, Raman Chaudhary and Rajiv Chaudhary, who are associates of Vishnoi, were also arrested in connection with the case. The motive behind these acts was to create trouble in the area and settle a personal dispute with the local SHO. Vishnoi believed that these actions would harm the reputation of the police and lead to disciplinary action against the SHO.
