Potential Tariff Hikes by Airtel and Vodafone Idea
Following Reliance Jio’s decision to increase tariffs, it is expected that Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea may also raise their mobile tariffs. The last time these companies increased tariffs was in December 2021. Since then, telecom companies have made significant investments in acquiring 5G spectrum and launching 5G services. Companies were waiting for the elections to conclude before making such a decision, and now Jio has taken the lead in increasing tariffs.
