Malé/Mumbai, 21st March: Gautam Hari Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director of Raymond Group, sustained minor injuries after a speedboat carrying him and other tourists capsized in the Maldives early Friday.

Singhania was among seven persons on board the vessel that overturned near V Felidhoo. He was rescued soon after the incident and has since returned to Mumbai, where he is recovering.

“Gautam Singhania suffered minor injuries following an unfortunate accident. He is recovering under due care in Mumbai,” his spokesperson said.

According to reports, the boat was carrying two women from the United Kingdom and Russia, along with five Indian men. Authorities said five الأشخاص were swept into the sea after the vessel capsized, including a Russian woman and four Indian nationals.

Two Indian men, including rally driver Hari Singh, are feared missing, and search operations are currently underway to locate them.

Officials in the Maldives have launched a rescue and recovery operation in the area while also initiating an investigation into the cause of the accident.
