New Delhi, 14th May. In a ruling pertaining to the case of deceptive ads, the Supreme Court on Tuesday excluded Patanjali Ayurved managing director Acharya Balkrishna and yoga master Baba Ramdev from testifying in person.

On the contempt notices sent to Baba Ramdev and others, the highest court postponed making a decision.

Judges Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah’s bench ordered Patanjali to provide a thorough affidavit detailing the actions taken to remove the company’s current deceptive product advertisements within three weeks. The court also requested that Patanjali provide a breakdown of the actions taken to remove advertisements for its items whose licenses have been revoked.
“We are dispensing with Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna’s presence and delaying orders regarding the contempt plea. The Supreme Court declared, “We require a thorough affidavit outlining the procedures followed for recalling advertisements and for removing prohibited goods from the relevant retailers.”
According to Justice Amanullah, the public should be informed and allopathy and Ayurveda should work together.

“Your client had to go to AIIMS two years back for a heart ailment,” Justice Amanullah stated, addressing the attorney representing Baba Ramdev. One should not undervalue the aastha that Baba Ramdev possesses in large measure. He ought to use it carefully.”

“The public is aware, and when given the option, they make thoughtful decisions… Use Baba Ramdev’s considerable influence wisely, the court ruled.

Senior counsel Balbir Singh informed the court that Patanjali had halted the sale of prohibited goods in both offline and online marketplaces while testifying on behalf of Baba Ramdev and Balkrishna.

“Our advertisements appear in 500 strange locations, including channels. We’re requesting that they take it down. We want the things that are prohibited to be withdrawn,” Singh stated.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has filed a case with the Supreme Court, alleging a smear campaign against contemporary medical systems and the Covid immunization effort.
