Ayodhya, 16th Jan.
Extensive preparations are underway to ensure the smooth and successful consecration ceremony of the Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya Dham, scheduled for January 22, 2024.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ according to the prescribed rituals. It is anticipated that more than 8,000 guests will attend the temple on this day, followed by hundreds of thousands of devotees from January 23 onwards.

Live Telecast

Elaborate arrangements have been made for the live telecast of the ceremony. The entire event will be broadcast live in 4K quality by Doordarshan on DD News and DD National channels. On January 23, 2024, Doordarshan will also broadcast the Aarti and Opening of Shree Ram Temple live for the public.

Doordarshan will share the clean feed of the event in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024, with ANI TV and PTI Video. All TV channels subscribed to the agency can obtain the feed from there.

For other national and international broadcasters, a YouTube link with the clean feed key will be generated. This link will be shared with the respective broadcasters upon request. Domestic broadcasters can request the YouTube link from the Press Information Bureau, while international TV channels should directly contact Prasar Bharati. Contact details are available in the PIB Media Advisory, which can be accessed here.

Channels also have the option to patch to DD News if the clean feed is not required. In this case, courtesy should be given to Doordarshan. PIB will release photographs and press releases of the event in English, Hindi, and Indian state languages.

Ayodhya Media Centre

A Media Centre will be established at Ram Katha Sangrahalay in Ayodhya with limited capacity. Large LED TVs will be set up to facilitate viewing of the telecast. The Media Centre will also have Wi-Fi facilities for media personnel to file their stories.

Portal for Media Passes

Media organizations wishing to cover the event from Ayodhya must apply through PIB’s centralized portal by 6 p.m. on January 17, 2024. Based on the applications, security passes will be issued through the state administration. The portal can be accessed here.

Special Programs by Doordarshan

In addition to the live telecasts, Doordarshan is running a Special News Bulletin titled “Ram Ki Paidi” from January 1 to 15, 2024. From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., there will be a special live program called “Shri Ram Ayodhya Aaye Hain” which will include daily updates on Ayodhya, guest discussions, special stories, and vox-pop.

Health Facilities

Efforts are being made to provide information on medical care facilities in Ayodhya on the websites of the local administration and the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust. This is to ensure that people can easily access adequate medical assistance. A team from JPNA Trauma Centre, AIIMS, New Delhi has been sent to Ayodhya to train around 200 health workers from January 12 to 15, 2024. The Government of India is also planning to establish a Bhishm Emergency Response facility in Ayodhya during the Pran Pratishtha ceremony and related programs.
