New Delhi, 16th Jan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently undertaking an 11-day ritual (Anushthan) prior to the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir on January 22, 2024. This ritual follows specific traditions to ensure purification before the ceremony.

In an audio message shared on the micro-blogging platform X (formerly Twitter), Prime Minister Modi announced that he will be following a Sattvic diet for these 11 days.

In the audio message shared on January 12, 2024, Prime Minister Modi expressed his honor in witnessing this pure and historic moment, with only 11 days remaining until the consecration of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He mentioned that as part of the ritual, he will sleep on the floor, engage in jaap and meditation, read religious scriptures, and consume sattvic food in small quantities.

What is a Sattvic Diet?

According to theyogainstitute.org, Sattvic diet is a pure vegetarian diet that includes seasonal fresh fruits, ample fresh vegetables, whole grains, pulses, sprouts, dried nuts, seeds, honey, fresh herbs, milk, and dairy products that are free from animal rennet. The Chhandogya Upanishad emphasizes the importance of consuming sattvic food as it purifies the mind and promotes good health and cheerfulness.

Meanwhile, as Ayodhya prepares for the consecration of the Ram temple, a beloved offering has received significant recognition – the famous besan ladoos of Hanuman Garhi. Known for their exceptional flavor, these delightful treats have officially applied for and received a Geographical Indication (GI) designation.

This achievement brings great joy not only to the citizens of Ayodhya but also to the Modak Samaj. The makers of Garhi Ladoo express their gratitude to the government for this excellent initiative. It is like icing on the cake as we inaugurate Ram Mandir on one hand and Hanuman Garhi Ladoo receives the GI tag on the other hand, they told ANI.
