Ram Mandir Consecration: ‘Ganga Maha Aarti’ to be Held at Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi

 In wake of the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya, a grand ‘Ganga Maha Aarti’ will be held at the Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday evening.

Various temples in Kashi are conducting religious rituals, including the Kashi Vishwanath temple where the recitation of Vedas has been ongoing since morning.

Piyush Tiwari, the Public Relations Officer of the temple, mentioned that two LCD screens have been installed in the complex for people to watch the live telecast of the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony.

The Indian Music Arts Center will present a kathak performance, along with other programs, Tiwari added.

In the evening, the entire Kashi Vishwanath temple will be illuminated with lamps.

Jitendra Mohan Puri, the mahant of the Batuk Bhairav temple, stated that the temple has been adorned with flowers and 5,100 lamps will be lit in the temple complex while the Sundar Kand is recited.

Sushant Mishra from the Ganga Seva Nidhi mentioned that, in light of the consecration of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, the Ganga Aarti held in the late evening will be organized as a ‘Maha Aarti’.

“On regular days, the Ganga Aarti in Varanasi is performed by seven Archakas, but due to today’s special occasion, the Ganga Aarti will be performed by nine Archakas, and it will be a Maha Aarti,” he explained.

After the aarti, Ram Bhajan will be sung, and in the evening, Deepotsav will be organized at the Dashashwamedh Ghat, with prasad distributed among devotees, Mishra added.

Shambhu Sahni, the Secretary of the Maa Ganga Nishad Raj Seva Trust, mentioned that boatmen are providing free ferry services across the river.
