When you call someone in Ayodhya, you will be greeted with songs dedicated to Lord Ram as their caller tunes. As the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya approaches, the name of Lord Ram has become popular on mobile caller tunes and social media.

The streets of Ayodhya are not the only ones filled with the spirit of Lord Ram. Many people have also changed their caller tunes or the ringtones to songs like ‘Ram Dhun’ and ‘Yug Ram Raj ka’ to show their devotion. ‘Ram Aaye Hain Ayodhya Mein’ is another popular choice.

Even on social media, especially Instagram, users are sharing popular songs like ‘Ram Aayenge’ on their story feeds.

“The entire Ayodhya, from temples to buses, and from streets to mobile phones, is embracing the spirit of Lord Ram,” said Ajitesh Shukla, who works at a guest house near Asharfi Bhawan.

He has changed his caller tune to ‘Hari Anant Hari Katha’ from the film ‘Aadipurush’.

“My manager changed his caller tune about a month ago, but most people have done it in the past 10 days as the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ date approached,” Shukla said.

Even the e-buses that travel between Ayodhya city and old Faizabad town play the popular song ‘Ram Aayenge’. An LED board near the driver’s seat displays the message: ‘Welcome to Ayodhya’ in Hindi and English.

“The Ram Dhun started playing in these buses from January 1. Every passenger gets to experience this new spirit of Ayodhya,” said Hari Om Pandey, a college student.

Anil Pandey, who works at Ayodhya District Women’s Hospital, recently changed his caller tune to match the religious fervor that has taken hold of the temple town.

“Around 80 percent of people have ‘Rammayi’ caller tunes. If you call anyone, known or unknown, chances are you will hear some Ram Dhun, and the popular one here is ‘Ram Aayenge’,” he said.

His caller tune is set to the viral song ‘Jai Shri Ram (‘Yug Ram Raj ka’)’. “My family members and friends have also changed their caller tunes to this one. Every time a phone rings in Ayodhya, Lord Ram’s name is invoked,” Pandey said.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s national spokesperson Vinod Bansal said that Lord Ram has already found a place in the hearts of the youth even before entering the grand new temple.

The new idol of Lord Ram, sculpted by Arun Yogiraj from Mysuru, entered the temple on Thursday afternoon. Currently, the deity’s eyes are covered with a cloth as part of the pre-consecration ceremony rituals.

“It is amazing to see the excitement of the youth about the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ and how they have embraced it,” Bansal said.

Deepak Kumar, a resident of Ayodhya district, said that people started setting their caller tunes to songs dedicated to Lord Ram as soon as the consecration ceremony date was announced.

“If you call anyone, in nearly 50 percent of cases, you will find these songs as caller tunes. This has happened recently,” he said.

Pundarik Gupta, from Saryu Lodge near the Ram temple site, points to the bow and arrow-themed lighting on the lodge’s rooftop as he warms himself by a bonfire at night. ‘Jai Shri Ram’ glows at night and can be seen from a long distance.

His business card features the image of the new Ram temple, and anyone calling him can hear the soulful tune of ‘Ram Aaye Hain Ayodhya Mein’.
