Rajeev Chandrasekhar Inaugurates Synopsys’ Chip Design Centre in Noida

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Jal Shakti, inaugurated Synopsys’ Chip Design Centre at DLF Tech Park in Noida on Tuesday.

The event was attended by senior leadership, employees, partners, and delegates from Synopsys.

During his speech, the Minister expressed his excitement about the future of the semiconductor industry in India. He mentioned that there is a lot of potential for innovation and growth, thanks to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He also highlighted the importance of the semiconductor ecosystem and the role of innovation in driving technology forward.

The Minister emphasized the significance of partnerships with global leaders like Synopsys in achieving India’s aspirations and future trajectory. He praised Synopsys for its contribution to the overall innovation of the tech and digital ecosystem.

In his conversation with Dr Aart de Geus, the founder of Synopsys, the Minister discussed the Government of India’s approach to the semiconductor industry, focusing on both manufacturing and innovation.

He expressed confidence in India’s capabilities in electronics and semiconductors and the government’s commitment to leading in chips, devices, and product architecture.

Dr Aart de Geus acknowledged the parallel growth of Synopsys and India and expressed excitement about the future of the partnership. He highlighted the substantial investment and acquisition of startups that led to the establishment of the Noida center, which will serve as a hub for innovation.

Synopsys is a dominant force in the industry, offering a diverse design portfolio from silicon to software. The company has a significant presence in India, with the second-largest design center and around 6,000 engineers working there.

Indian engineers play a crucial role in the semiconductor chip design cycle and contribute to the success of leading semiconductor companies. The expanding presence of Synopsys in Noida reflects the growing ecosystem of chip design and innovation in India.

The company’s Indian engineers are involved in designing chips for various companies, incorporating EDA/IP solutions.
