Jaipur, 7th Jan: The Rajasthan Regional AI Impact Conference was held on January 6, bringing together national and state leaders, policymakers, industry experts, startups and academia to deliberate on the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in governance, infrastructure, innovation and workforce development.
The conference, a precursor to the India AI Impact Summit 2026 scheduled for February 15–20, was attended by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Minister for Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw (virtually), Minister of State for Electronics and IT Jitin Prasada, and Rajasthan IT and Communication Minister Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore.
Addressing the gathering, Ashwini Vaishnaw said a national programme has been launched to train one million young people in artificial intelligence skills, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision of democratising technology so that AI reaches every individual, household and enterprise.
Jitin Prasada highlighted that the government has committed an investment of ₹10,000 crore under the India AI Mission to deploy AI across agriculture, healthcare, education and environmental sectors, aimed at improving incomes, ease of living and national productivity.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said Rajasthan is moving beyond e-governance to become a leader in AI and machine learning. He announced the launch of Rajasthan’s AI/ML Policy 2026 and the state AI portal, aimed at promoting transparent, fair and citizen-centric public service delivery and innovation-led growth.
Key initiatives unveiled included the YUVA AI for All national AI literacy programme, the iStart Learning Management System, the Rajasthan AVGC-XR Portal, and the signing of MoUs with Google, IIT Delhi, National Law University Jodhpur and the Wadhwani Foundation to boost research, skilling and ethical AI frameworks.
The conference featured high-level discussions with IndiaAI Mission CEO Abhishek Singh and NVIDIA South Asia MD Vishal Dhupar, alongside sessions on AI applications in governance, ethics, employment and infrastructure, reinforcing Rajasthan’s growing role as a hub for AI-led innovation.
