Jaipur, 19th Jan. The Rajasthan government on Thursday announced a half-day holiday in the state on January 22 to mark the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma made this announcement during the BJP Legislature Party meeting held at the party’s headquarters on Thursday night.
This decision by the state government follows the Centre’s announcement of a half-day holiday for all its employees on January 22. However, Cabinet Minister Kanhaiya Lal Choudhary has requested the chief minister to change it to a full-day leave.
Prior to the assembly session on Friday, a meeting of the BJP legislature party was held at the party headquarters. During this meeting, the MLAs provided their suggestions for managing the proceedings in the House.
On Friday, Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra will address the session of the 16th Rajasthan Assembly. The Governor will be welcomed by Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant, and the Principal Secretary of the Assembly.
Minister Suresh Rawat stated that all ministers have been instructed to hold a public hearing at the BJP headquarters. The meeting was attended by the chief minister, BJP state president CP Joshi, Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Premchand Bairwa, and Chief Whip Jogeshwar Garg. Former chief minister Vasundhara Raje was not present at the meeting.
