New Delhi, 1st Aug: Raj Kumar Arora took over as the Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) on Friday, August 1, 2025. A 1990-batch officer of the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS), Arora brings with him a wealth of experience across various financial domains within the government.
Throughout his career, Arora has held several prestigious assignments, including serving as Additional Secretary in the UPSC, Finance Manager (Air) in the Acquisition Wing of the Ministry of Defence, and Director in the Ministry of Finance. He has also worked as an Integrated Financial Advisor in various Commands and in the field offices of the Defence Accounts Department.
Prior to his new role, Arora was a Member (Finance) in the erstwhile Ordnance Factory Board. His extensive experience covers crucial areas such as financial policy, accounting, audit, budget, procurement, and personnel matters, making him a seasoned choice for the top post.
