Rahul Gandhi Delivered ‘Strong Speech’ at Congress’ Rally: Shashi Tharoor

GG News Bureau

New Delhi, 5th September. Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, who is considering running for party president, praised Rahul Gandhi’s “strong speech” at the party’s ‘Mehengai Par Halla Bol’ rally here on Sunday, noting that large crowds flocked to the Ramlila Maidan for it.

Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP of weakening the country by instilling fear and hatred, which he said would benefit India’s enemies, as the party attempted to corner the central government over price rises with a massive rally in Delhi on Sunday.

At the rally, the former Congress chief launched an all-out attack on the government, claiming that since the BJP government took power, there has been pressure on institutions such as the media, the judiciary, and the Election Commission, and the government is undermining them.

Tharoor praised Gandhi in a tweet, “A strong speech by Rahul Gandhi at Congress’ ‘Mehengai Par Halla Bol rally’ roused the huge crowds thronging the Ram Lila Maidan. Now to take the message across the country in the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra!”

Tharoor has stated that he will decide whether to run for Congress president only after the election notification is issued.

The notification for the Congress president’s election will be issued on September 22, and the nominations will be accepted from September 24 to September 30.

The deadline for withdrawing nominations is October 8, and the election, if necessary, will take place on October 17. The results will be available on October 19.
