Pune, 25th May.
The tragic Pune crash, claiming the lives of two engineers in a collision involving a Porsche allegedly driven by a drunk 17-year-old, has escalated with startling revelations. Pune Police disclosed today that the family of the accused teenager orchestrated a scheme to shift blame onto a driver in a bid to evade responsibility.

Engineers Ashwini Kostha and Anish Awadhiya lost their lives when the speeding Porsche, traveling at 200 km per hour, collided with their bike from behind, leaving them dead at the scene. Authorities stated that the accused, the son of a prominent Pune realtor, was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the fatal accident.

In a shocking twist, it was unveiled that moments after the crash, the teenager’s father contacted a driver and offered incentives to falsely admit to driving the car. Refusing the offer, the driver faced intimidation tactics from the family to coerce him into taking blame for the incident.

“Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar disclosed in a press briefing today that the family attempted to manipulate the situation by coercing the driver to shoulder the blame for the Porsche collision,” the official statement read.

The driver, in his police complaint, detailed being unlawfully confined by the accused teenager’s grandfather, who allegedly seized his phone and detained him in their bungalow premises for two days. Consequently, the grandfather has been apprehended on charges of kidnapping.

Authorities emphasized having concrete evidence, including CCTV footage, affirming that the inebriated teenager was indeed driving the Porsche during the fatal crash. It was revealed that the teen had been celebrating with friends after passing his Class 12 board exams before the tragic incident occurred.

Despite being taken into custody promptly after the accident, the teenager was granted bail within 15 hours under seemingly lenient conditions, sparking public outcry. However, following intervention from the Juvenile Justice Board, the initial order was revised, and the accused was remanded to a juvenile facility until June 5. Police are now seeking permission from the board to try the teenager as an adult, amidst growing demands for swift justice nationwide.
