New Delhi, June 18, 2025 – Prof. M. M. Goel calls on Indian Women to adopt Needonomics as a Pathway to Viksit Bharat. Speaking as the Guest of Honour at the National Seminar on “Women-Led Development” held at the India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi, Prof. Madan Mohan Goel, former Vice-Chancellor (thrice) and the propounded of the Needonomics School of Thought, delivered a thought-provoking and motivating address . The event was organized by the Centre for Narendra Modi Studies (CNMS–NaMo Kendra) to commemorate the 102nd birth anniversary of Aadaraniya Maa Heeraben, revered mother of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.
While highlighting the profound relevance of the Anu-Gita, Prof. Goel described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a Jiwan-Mukti personality—one who embodies liberation through noble deeds. As a symbolic gesture of reverence, he presented a copy of the Anu-Gita to Prof. Jasim Mohammad, Chairman of CNMS, for onward transmission to the Prime Minister.
Prof. Jasim Mohammad, Chairman of CNMS, delivered the welcome address, while Dr. Amna Mirza moderated the event. The Chief Guest was Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Former Governor of Assam, and the session was chaired by Her Holiness Rajmata Ambica Ji Khir Bhawani. Distinguished speakers included Prof. Alok Chakrawal, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh); Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General of the Association of Indian Universities; Prof. K. In his keynote, titled “Needonomics for Nari Shakti: A Path to Viksit Bharat”, Prof. Goel emphasized that women are not mere consumers but creators, nurturers, and catalysts of change. He advocated for Needo-Consumption—mindful, need-based consumption—as essential to ethical and sustainable development.
Drawing inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita, Prof. Goel described Needonomics as an indigenous model of right growth—growth that prioritizes people, planet, and equity. He introduced the “Three D’s” for women’s empowerment: Determination, Dedication, and Discipline, urging women to adopt these qualities as a foundation for meaningful progress.
Prof. Goel encouraged women to reduce excessive consumption, support local and ethical products, and lead families and communities with sustainable values. In tribute to Maa Heeraben, CNMS urged women to become Street SMART—Simple, Moral, Action-oriented, Responsive, and Transparent.
“Indian women must not only benefit from change but lead it,” Prof. Goel asserted. “Empowered by Needonomics, let them guide Bharat toward a purposeful and inclusive future.”
