Prof. M.M. Goel Calls for aligning Research with Purpose through Needonomics at Mahanth Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya, VKSU Ara
Ara, 17th October: Delivering the keynote address, Prof. Madan Mohan Goel, Proponent Needonomics, Former Vice-Chancellor (Thrice) & Pro Vice-Chancellor Veer Kunwar Singh University (VKSU), Ara emphasized the urgency of aligning research with purpose for sustainable futures through Needonomics (economics of needs).
The Multidisciplinary International Seminar on “Recent Trends in Multidisciplinary Research, Practices & Innovation” was organized by Mahanth Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya,Ara.
Principal Dr N.P. Palit delivered the welcome address and introduced Prof M.M. Goel to the participants.
While expressing his gratitude to Dr. N.P. Palit for the invitation, Prof. Goel remarked that Dr. Palit embodies the spirit of a Jivan-Mukti—a liberated soul who performs noble deeds during his lifetime—making him greater in essence than even a Padma Shri awardee, in accordance with the mandate of the Anu-Gita.
Prof Dr Tapan Kumar Shandilya, Former Vice-Chancellor DSPM University, Ranchi while delivering the presidential address placed on record appreciation for Needonomics as most relevant policy promoted by Prof.M.M.Goel. Prof Braj Raj Kumar Sinha Pro Vice-Chancellor Magadh University Bodh-Gaya and Prof Ganesh Mahto Pro Vice-Chancellor Patliputra University Patna, Dr K.B.Singh President FUTAB also spoke on the occasion. Dr Vijayshri organizing Secretary acted as master of ceremony.
Speaking on the theme “Knowledge with Purpose: Multidisciplinary Research in Needonomics Framework for Sustainable Futures,” Prof. Goel underscored that while multidisciplinary research equips humanity with tools to address global challenges, it must be guided by ethics to prevent serving greed instead of genuine need.
Education of Needonomics means filling our minds daily with empowering wisdom of mindful consumption,” Prof. Goel explained.
“Needonomics School of Thought (NST) provides a moral compass for research and If knowledge is power, then knowledge with purpose is true progress,” he stated.
Prof. Goel stressed that sustainable futures require combining technological advancement with moral and social responsibility.
Highlighting the Street SMART framework of Needonomics, Prof. Goel called for researchers to embody qualities of simplicity, morality, action-oriented, responsive, and transparency to ensure their contributions remain inclusive and impactful.
