New Delhi, January 25:Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended warm greetings to citizens on the occasion of National Voters’ Day, calling it an opportunity to further deepen faith in India’s democratic values.

The Prime Minister congratulated the Election Commission of India and all those associated with it for their continuous efforts to strengthen the country’s democratic processes.

Voting: A Privilege and a Responsibility

Highlighting the importance of voter participation, Shri Modi said that being a voter is not only a constitutional privilege but also a vital duty that gives every citizen a voice in shaping India’s future. He urged people to actively take part in democratic processes and uphold the spirit of democracy, thereby strengthening the foundations of a Viksit Bharat.

Encouraging First-Time Voters

The Prime Minister described becoming a voter as an occasion of celebration and emphasised the need to encourage first-time voters, especially young citizens, to participate in elections.

Letter to MY-Bharat Volunteers

On National Voters’ Day, Shri Modi also wrote a letter to MY-Bharat volunteers, urging them to rejoice and celebrate whenever someone around them, particularly a young person, gets enrolled as a voter for the first time.

In a series of posts on social media platform X, the Prime Minister reiterated that National Voters’ Day is about strengthening trust in democratic values and recognising the shared responsibility of citizens in building a strong and inclusive democracy.
