President Murmu Unveils Bust of Former President K R Narayanan

Thiruvananthapuram, 23rd Oct: President Droupadi Murmu unveiled the bust of former President K R Narayanan at Raj Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram, on October 23, 2025.

The ceremony was attended by former President Ram Nath Kovind, Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Bihar Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, and other dignitaries.

President Murmu described Narayanan’s life as a story of courage, perseverance, and self-belief. She highlighted his journey from academic excellence to the highest constitutional office in India, emphasizing his commitment to fairness, inclusivity, and the nation’s values of peace and justice.

Narayanan’s distinguished career in the Indian Foreign Service, she noted, reflected his dedication to public service. Even after assuming the presidency, he remained deeply connected to his home state Kerala, drawing inspiration from its focus on education and social progress.

The President underscored Shri Narayanan’s belief in education as a right for all, and his insistence that human values are central to societal and national development.

“Shri K R Narayanan has left a legacy of morality, integrity, compassion, and democratic spirit,” President Murmu said. She urged citizens to draw inspiration from his life, committed to nation-building, equality, integrity, and public service.
