President Murmu to Take Rafale Sortie in Ambala Tomorrow

New Delhi, 28th Oct: President of India Droupadi Murmu will visit Ambala, Haryana, on October 29, 2025, where she is scheduled to take a sortie in the Rafale fighter aircraft. The sortie will take place at the Ambala Air Force Station, home to the first Rafale squadron of the Indian Air Force (IAF).

This will be the President’s second experience flying in a combat aircraft. Earlier, on April 8, 2023, she took a sortie in the Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jet at Tezpur Air Force Station in Assam.

President Murmu’s upcoming Rafale sortie symbolizes India’s growing defence capabilities and reflects her keen interest in the Armed Forces. The Rafale, an advanced multi-role fighter aircraft acquired from France, plays a vital role in strengthening the IAF’s strategic and operational edge.
