President Murmu to be on Visit to Andaman and Nicobar Islands from Feb 19 to 23

President Droupadi Murmu is all set to undertake an official visit to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands from February 19 to 23, 2024.

The itinerary for President Murmu’s visit is packed with meaningful engagements that reflect both the historical significance and contemporary importance of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

On February 19, the President will commence her visit by paying homage to the martyrs at the Martyr’s Column, followed by a visit to the revered Cellular Jail Complex and Museum. There, she will witness the evocative light and sound show, which serves as a poignant reminder of India’s struggle for independence.

Later in the day, President Murmu will attend a civic reception hosted in her honor at the Dr. BR Ambedkar Institute of Technology in Port Blair, highlighting the government’s focus on education and technological advancement in the region.

On February 20, President Murmu will visit Indira Point and Campbell Bay, experiencing firsthand the natural beauty and strategic significance of these locales. Additionally, she will pay tribute to Subhash Chandra Bose Island and immerse herself in another mesmerizing light and sound show.

February 21 will see President Murmu engaging with the members of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) at Raj Niwas, Port Blair, underscoring the government’s commitment to inclusivity and empowerment.

Concurrently, she will witness an operational demonstration by troops at Radhanagar Beach, reaffirming the government’s dedication to ensuring the security and well-being of the islands and its inhabitants.
