She noted that 2025 marks the centenary of the Ol Chiki script and appreciated the Union Minister of Law and Justice and his team for bringing out the Santhali version of the Constitution in this landmark year.

Among those present at the event were Vice President C P Radhakrishnan and Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal.

Santhali, one of India’s most ancient living languages, was included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution through the 92nd Amendment Act, 2003. It is spoken by a large tribal population across Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and Bihar.
