New Delhi, 26th Dec: President Droupadi Murmu on Friday conferred the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar on children for their exceptional achievements in bravery, social service, environment, sports, art and culture, and science and technology at a ceremony held in New Delhi.
Congratulating the awardees, the President said the children had brought pride to their families, communities and the entire nation, and expressed confidence that their achievements would inspire millions of children across the country.
Recalling history, Murmu paid tribute to Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his four sons, who made supreme sacrifices for truth and justice. She remembered the bravery of the Sahibzadas and other young heroes who laid down their lives with courage and pride.
The President said the greatness of a country is reflected in children filled with patriotism and high ideals. She highlighted outstanding examples of young achievers, including seven-year-old chess prodigy Vaka Lakshmi Pragnika, and brave children like Ajay Raj and Mohammed Sidan P who saved lives through courage and intelligence.
She also remembered nine-year-old Vyoma Priya and eleven-year-old Kamlesh Kumar, who lost their lives while saving others, and lauded ten-year-old Shravan Singh for supporting soldiers during Operation Sindoor by delivering water, milk and lassi at border areas.
Highlighting inclusivity, Murmu praised differently-abled athlete Shivani Hosuru Uppara for overcoming physical and economic challenges, and young cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi for setting records in competitive cricket.
She expressed confidence that such brave and talented children would continue to strengthen the nation and build a brighter future for India.
