President Murmu Leads Nation in Honoring 1971 War Heroes on Vijay Diwas

New Delhi, 16th Dec. President Droupadi Murmu led the nation in paying homage to the brave soldiers of the 1971 war on Vijay Diwas, commemorated annually on December 16 to celebrate India’s historic victory over Pakistan. In a heartfelt post on X, the President expressed gratitude to the soldiers whose sacrifices inspire generations and serve as a source of national pride.

Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar also honored the unparalleled gallantry of the Armed Forces, stating that the nation remains forever indebted to their service and sacrifice.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the courage and dedication of the soldiers, highlighting their role in safeguarding the nation and bringing glory to the country. He described Vijay Diwas as a celebration of their extraordinary valor and unyielding spirit.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh saluted the bravery of the Armed Forces, emphasizing that their patriotism ensured the nation’s safety. He reiterated that India would never forget their sacrifice and service. To honor the occasion, the Defence Minister laid a wreath at the National War Memorial in New Delhi.

Key dignitaries, including Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, and the Chiefs of the Army, Air, and Naval Staff, also paid their respects at the memorial.
