New Delhi, 10th Feb. President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday inaugurated the Aadi Mahotsav 2024 at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi.
In her address, President Murmu emphasized the cherished principle of ‘unity in diversity’ ingrained within India’s cultural fabric.
Murmu expressed confidence that the event would offer attendees a profound insight into the lifestyle, music, art, and cuisine of tribal communities.
Drawing attention to environmental sustainability, President Murmu highlighted the harmonious coexistence with nature practiced by tribal communities for generations. She stressed the importance of learning from their eco-friendly lifestyle, particularly amidst global concerns of climate change and environmental degradation.
Acknowledging the role of technology in modern development, President Murmu advocated for its inclusive application to benefit all sections of society, especially marginalized communities like tribals.
She underscored the need for leveraging traditional knowledge alongside modern advancements to foster sustainable development.
President Murmu commended the launch of the Venture Capital Fund for Scheduled Tribes (VCF-ST), foreseeing its potential to nurture entrepreneurship and innovation among tribal youth.
Encouraging them to seize this opportunity, she urged them to contribute actively to India’s journey towards self-reliance.
Organized by TRIFED under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the Aadi Mahotsav aims to showcase the rich diversity of India’s tribal heritage. Running from February 10 to 18, 2024, the festival promises a celebration of indigenous culture and tradition, fostering appreciation and awareness nationwide.
