President Droupadi Murmu to Visit Odisha from July 14–15
President Murmu to attend convocations, lay foundation for school redevelopment, and honour Odisha’s literary icon Sarala Das.

Bhubaneswar, 14th July: President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu will embark on a two-day visit to Odisha, covering Bhubaneswar and Cuttack from July 14 to 15, the Rashtrapati Bhavan announced on Saturday.
According to the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the President’s official itinerary includes participation in two key convocation ceremonies and a foundation-laying event, as well as the commemoration of an iconic Odia literary figure.
Key Highlights of the Visit:
- July 14 (Bhubaneswar):
President Murmu will grace the 5th Convocation Ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, a premier institution under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. - July 15 (Cuttack):
The President will attend the 13th Annual Convocation of the historic Ravenshaw University, a premier higher education institution in Odisha.
She will also lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of three buildings of Ravenshaw Girls’ High School, underlining her commitment to girls’ education.Later in the day, the President will grace the birth anniversary celebrations of Adikabi Sarala Das, the 15th-century poet and father of Odia literature, and present the prestigious Kalinga Ratna Award 2024 at a special event in Cuttack.
The visit holds cultural and educational significance, especially as President Murmu—India’s first tribal woman President—returns to her home state to honour academic excellence and Odia heritage.
