New Delhi, 23rd March: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in a building collapse incident in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, and announced financial assistance for the victims.
In a message shared on X, the Prime Minister said he was deeply saddened by the mishap and extended his condolences to the affected families during this difficult time.
He announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased, while those injured in the incident will receive ₹50,000.
“My thoughts are with the affected people and their families. May those injured recover at the earliest,” the Prime Minister said.
The announcement comes amid ongoing rescue and relief efforts following the tragic collapse, which has led to casualties and injuries, prompting swift response from local authorities.
The government has assured all possible assistance to those impacted, with focus on relief, medical care, and support to affected families.
