According to an official communication, Sehgal submitted his resignation on Tuesday.

A retired IAS officer of the 1988 batch from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, Sehgal was appointed Chairman of Prasar Bharati in March 2024. Over a career spanning more than 35 years, he held key leadership positions at both the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh, contributing to major governance and policy reforms.

Prasar Bharati’s portal notes his tenure as CEO of the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), where he oversaw the construction of the 302-km Agra–Lucknow Expressway—built as a six-lane highway, expandable to eight lanes—in a record 22 months.
