POTUS urges Putin, Zelensky ‘make a deal’, end Ukraine war ‘Enough bloodshed”

WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump on Saturday said he told both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky it was time to “stop the killing and make a deal.”
Trump in a Truth Social post urged both sides to “stop where they are,” declare victory, and end the conflict, adding, “Thousands of people [are] being slaughtered each and every week, NO MORE. GO HOME TO YOUR FAMILIES IN PEACE!”
He said, “Enough blood has been shed, with property lines being defined by war and guts. They should stop where they are. Let both claim victory, let history decide. No more shooting, no more death, no more vast and unsustainable sums of money spent.”
Trump added that the war “would have never started” if he were in office taking a swipe at former President Joe Biden.
President Trump said he met President Zelensky on Friday, describing their meeting as “good and cordial.”
He added that he told him the war must stop immediately.
Both sides, Trump said, should halt fighting where the battle lines currently stand, as “beyond that, it only gets more complicated.”
“I’ve conveyed the same message to President Putin stop the killing, let everyone return home to their families, and end it right there,” he stated.
Trump reiterated his stance on India’s purchase of Russian oil, saying Prime Minister Narendra Modi had committed to ending such imports.
“India is not going to be buying Russian oil anymore,” Trump said, acknowledged that while it “can’t be done immediately,” the process “is going to be over with soon.”
