Political Leaders Pay Heartfelt Tribute to Mulayam Singh Yadav

New Delhi, 10th Oct. Mulayam Singh Yadav, the founder of the Samajwadi Party and a veteran politician, died today in a Gurugram hospital after a long illness. The 82-year-old had been in the hospital since August and was shifted to the Medanta Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit on October 2.

Uttar Pradesh will observe three days of state mourning for the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Monday.

“He was a pillar of socialism. His death is the end of an era of struggle,” CM Yogi said. “I wish peace to the departed soul and my condolences to the bereaved family and supporters,” he added.

In condolences for Yadav’s death, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was a remarkable personality who was widely admired as a grounded leader.

” Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav Ji was a remarkable personality. He was widely admired as a humble and grounded leader who was sensitive to people’s problems. He served people diligently and devoted his life towards popularizing the ideals of Loknayak JP and Dr. Lohia,” the PM said in a tweet.

Condoling the demise of SP patron, President Droupadi Murmu said that the achievements of Mulayam Singh Yadav, who came from an ordinary environment, were extraordinary.

Amit Shah pays tribute to Mulayam Singh at Gurugram Hospital.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid his respects to Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav at Medanta hospital in Gurugram on Monday.

Soon after learning of the leader’s death, Amit Shah drove to the hospital to console the family.

The home minister met Mulayam’s family members at the hospital, including son and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, and expressed his condolences.

Shah expressed his condolences on Twitter, saying that the Samajwadi Party supremo and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister will be remembered as a “grassroots leader.”

“Mulayam Singh Yadav ji remained active in politics for decades with his unique political skills. During the Emergency, he raised his voice for the restoration of democracy. He will always be remembered as a grassroots leader. His death marks the end of an era in Indian politics,” Shah said in a tweet in Hindi.

The Congress party mourned the veteran leader’s death, calling it an irreparable loss to Indian politics.

Sonia Gandhi, the interim leader of the Congress, expressed condolences for Mulayam Singh Yadav’s demise. “As the Defense Minister of the country & CM of UP, the contribution of Mulayam Singh will always be unforgettable,” she wrote.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, general secretary of the Congress, said Yadav’s unparalleled contribution to politics as defence minister and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh will be remembered.

Rahul Gandhi praised Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, who died on Monday, as a “true warrior” of grassroots politics and also attended a condolence meet to grieve his death.

Mulayam Singh Yadav spent his life as a public servant and in service to the country, and his death is a loss for the entire nation, said Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Monday.

“Today, we have received very sad news of the passing away of Mulayam Singh ji who served as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh as well as the Union Defence Minister. He had a long history of public service,” Scindia stated to reporters on the sidelines of a function at the SKICC.

He prayed for his family’s strength and patience.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Mulayam Yadav’s death was a colossal loss to Indian politics.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed condolences over the death of Samajwadi Party supremo and three-time chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Mulayam Singh Yadav and praised his contribution to the development of the state.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expressed his condolences on the death of Mulayam Singh Yadav, the founder of the Samajwadi Party and a former defence minister.

“Saddened by the passing away of Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh & Former Defence Minister of India Shri Mulayam Singh Yadav. My deepest condolences to the family. May God bestow Sadgati to the departed soul. Om Shanti,” CM Sawant tweeted.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his condolences on the death of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav on Monday.

In his condolence message, Kumar recalled Yadav’s long political career, including his time as Defence Minister in the United Front government of the 1990s and three terms as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal expressed his condolences over the death of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and prayed for strength for his family and supporters to bear the loss.
