Nawada, 19th Aug: A minor accident occurred during Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s “Voter Adhikar Yatra” in Nawada, Bihar, when his vehicle hit a police officer. According to reports, the police officer did not sustain any serious injuries in the incident.
The accident took place on Tuesday while Rahul Gandhi and other leaders of the Mahagathbandhan were traveling in an open jeep. The vehicle came into contact with a police officer, who was immediately assisted by other yatra members and security personnel.
Following the collision, Rahul Gandhi reportedly helped the injured officer into his vehicle and offered him a bottle of water.
The incident has drawn a strong attack from the BJP. BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla shared a video of the incident on X, alleging that Rahul Gandhi’s car had “crushed” a police constable.
Poonawalla claimed that the “dynast” did not even get down to check on the officer and sarcastically referred to the march as “Janata Kuchlo Yatra” (Crush the Public March).
